To be clear, this review is not a reflection of the staff or the care I received. The service itself was smooth, and every staff member I interacted with was kind, professional, and helpful. The one-star rating is due entirely to what happened after my visit. Nearly a year later, I began receiving repeated texts and emails claiming I owed money for services that I had already paid for in full. I verified my records, confirmed payment, and contacted Kindbody. I was told it was a system error and assured the notices would stop. They did not. Over the past few months, Iβve received at least 20 additional payment notices (not an exaggeration), despite following up multiple times and being repeatedly told the issue was resolved. After an additional attempt last week to have this corrected, I still received three more messages today alone. At this point, the experience feels careless at best and sketchy at worst. Itβs been frustrating, time-consuming, and deeply disappointing. Because of this ongoing billing issue, I wonβt be recommending Kindbody going forward.

Don't be fooled by the shiny website and nice offices, like many other fertility clinics its a bunch of departments that don't talk to each other and enforce administrative efficiency objects over patient centric care. During my first consult they told me as soon as your labs and follicle count are back we will submit a pre-authorization. Wrong- they refused to submit it for 3 weeks because "a lot of plans change in the new year". Okay well here is proof my plan is not changing and none of the benefits are impacted by the change of the new calendar year. "Oh well, sorry Aetna wont let us submit before January....not true". After multiple pushes from me, "well actually its our own internal policy and in general we need to reverify your benefits before we do a pre-authorization and so we wont do that in December". Fine but don't act like some high-touch patient-centric place when you apply averages/generalities of how insurance works above what the person's actual situation is. I realize a lot of people have plan changes on January 1st but I say "look here is documentation proving that is not happening with me". Again they say "Sorry the policy is the policy- not sorry we cost you a month or two in starting your cycle". God forbid we have to file a pre-authorization twice, thats what they care about (saving themselves time and following their own policies, not about speed or unique patient needs). Amazing way to start off my "journey."

I would not recommend Kindbody. From my experience, they do not care about patientsβthey care about money. Be very careful and know exactly what youβre getting into before starting with them. They have hidden fees, and it feels like every week youβre being charged for something that was never clearly explained upfront. Even when youβre told youβre insured, you still end up getting billed later. The lack of transparency is extremely frustrating. What makes this even worse is that this is heartbreaking and completely unnecessary while youβre going through such a deeply personal and emotional journey of trying to have a baby. This process is already stressful enough without the added anxiety of surprise bills and financial confusion. The account/billing team is especially bad. They tell you that youβre insured and covered, and then turn around and bill you anyway. Youβre left confused, frustrated, and emotionally drained. If you value clear communication, compassion, and honest billing, I strongly suggest going elsewhere. No one should have to deal with this kind of stress during such a sensitive time.

BEWARE THEY PRACTICE PREDATORY BILLING! Their billing practices are criminal. They take advantage of women at their most vulnerable. Then you can't get anyone from billing on the phone to question determinations or give you any kind of answers. Industry standard for embryo testing is you pre pay for up to 10 embryos and are refunded any remaining balance should you have less. They do not tell you until you are mid cycle that they don't give you any money back - what are you supposed to do at that point?! It should be illegal. They blamed the lab for the policy but when I asked to go to a different lab they refused and they refused to give me the information of what lab they use so that I could call and negotiate on my own behalf. They still have not provided me the back up bill from the lab to prove the charges. It's a scam. DON'T GO HERE! Follow Up: Since their reply below I called billing AGAIN and they said they would escalate the request and someone would call me back within 24 hours (this is not the first time I've heard this). Yet again no one has called me back. So the notes below offering to review my case are just posturing.

Just finished my first egg retrieval! Overall a great experience with Kindbody. Clean facilities, doctors were responsive via the portal, and the medication instructions & pricing were very clear & transparent. I did have a few billing issues which were sorted out after I sent some inquiries -- but that is in no part reflective of the great care that I received from the doctors, medical team and ppl on-site. Thank you Kindbody for making fertility not so scary... and for giving me a choice over my body.
