The entire team at RMA has been an absolute delight to work withโthey are truly a shining star in an otherwise bleak healthcare system. While Kaiser Permanente quoted us a six-month wait just to get into their fertility clinic, RMA saw us right away. The doctors at RMA are some of the most caring and compassionate you will find. Dr. Daniel Kaser and Dr. Scott Morin have excellent bedside manner, always taking the time to listen carefully and address every question, fear, and concern. They clearly communicate proposed plans of action, giving intended parents a clear path forward during what is already an emotionally challenging journey. The nurses deserve special recognition as wellโthey are exceptionally caring, attentive, and responsive. Whether it was a simple question or a moment of anxiety, they consistently went above and beyond to make us feel supported. The entire RMA team was also accessible every day of the week through the Spruce app, which gave us reassurance and answers whenever we needed them. After working with RMA for more than four years, we are overjoyed to finally welcome our first child. Dr. Kaser was meticulous in his work and thoughtful in every recommendation. With RMAโs support, my wife and I navigated egg freezing, IVF, and surrogacy. Dr. Kaiser set an exceptionally high bar when it came to matching us with the best possible surrogate, which gave us the highest confidence in achieving the best possible outcome. We are deeply grateful to RMA for walking with us every step of the way and could not recommend them more highly to anyone pursuing this path.

We recently froze embryos at RMA of Northern California with Dr. Noel as our primary doctor. We retrieved and froze 6 PGT-A regular embryos (of 30 retrieved eggs -> 26 mature -> 24 fertilized -> 7 mature embryos -> 6 PGT-A regular). Pros: - We are happy with the results! I am 29 and I did have 30 follicles at the baseline appointment, so the number of eggs and embryos are all around what I was expecting. - We were able to choose our doctor and get an initial fertility consult very quickly! I thought Dr. Noel was great on this call -- it went for almost an hour, and she was very thoughtful. - I loved getting to look at the distribution of follicles by size after each ultrasound on the Artemis app. - Getting regular blood results (most results within 2-3 hours) and nurse feedback via Artemis and Spruce was also great! - The actual egg retrieval process was very smooth and pleasant! - We had only positive to very positive interactions with all staff at RMA, including a favorite ultrasound tech who did the majority of my scans! - Using Alto pharmacy was painless and convenient (free same-day delivery). - I was relieved that I only had to take two weeks off of running to freeze eggs! And found the shot instructions provided by RMA to be good and helpful. Cons: - It took a few days to get clearance from the finance department which was frustrating since it pushed back my cycle and thus lengthening the period of time pre-cycle where I had to take progesterone pills and go without some things (alcohol, sex, cold medicine, ibuprofen, sushi, etc). - There was some guesswork / lack of clarity during the period between our initial consultation and deciding to go ahead and freeze embryos. I had to Google that it's common to start a cycle on day 1 of one's menstrual cycle, but with my menstrual cycle being irregular and with having lots of travel plans I wasn't sure whether I would be able to do an egg freezing cycle. It seems like perhaps going on a progesterone pill at the start of one's period is a way to delay the start of an egg freezing cycle, which is what we ended up doing (while waiting for financial clearance), but this information wasn't clear which made me unsure about whether I was able to proceed with an egg freezing cycle. I think having an irregular period plus busy travel schedule made this particularly irksome -- at one point I asked "if my period is one week late, could I go freeze eggs?" and they said "sure that works, let's get you booked!" and I was like, "I can't guarantee my period will be exactly one week late???" and so then they stopped responding. Ultimately, I'm grateful that (when my period was exactly that one week late) I messaged back and they were able to get me on progesterone that same day and starting IVF shots 8 days later. - One could expect more communication from a doctor throughout the process - I never actually met with Dr. Noel again after the initial ultrasound. However, she did respond (late at night!) after I messaged via Spruce about feeling lightheaded during shots one night. As I was getting daily messages from a nurse on Spruce, I didn't feel this negatively affected my experience.

I do not recommend this clinic if you are a self-pay patient. I was incorrectly charged for services here, the front desk refused to update my care receipt, and the billing and support staff have been extremely difficult to work with. It looks like their care is fantastic and I liked my doctor, but I was not able to move forward in good faith with this provider due to my terrible experience in billing & office support. Detailed overview: They offered me the option for my first visit of a $250 tele-doc appointment, which I completed and covered my full medical history with my doctor. I came into the office for diagnostic testing, which was completed. After the appointment, an additional $450 was added to my receipt for "New patient consult". I informed the staff I did not have that consult as I had done it online, which they informed me that $450 charge was "non-negotiable" and "applied to all first time in-office patients". Additionally, my care receipt for the diagnostic testing included 3 different items that I refused care on during my visit, and the staff refused to update the receipt while I was in the office and able to confirm with the nurse. When asking questions about billing I found the staff to be defensive and hostile. I was so upset by the experience I left crying.

Although I did not end up going through with an appointment with RMA, I have nothing but positive things to say around the team and Dr. Noel. I recently was diagnosed with cancer and was advised to consult with a fertility specialist prior to starting chemo. I was calling several clinics on a Saturday to try to get in as quickly as possible - RMA answered and got me scheduled in 3 days. Prior to the appointment, I received a call from Dr. Noel advising that due to the nature of my case, I seek treatment at UCSF instead. Within a few hours, she had reached out to several doctors and I was able to get in the next day. She kept me updated throughout the process even though I wouldnโt ultimately end up as her patient. I canโt say enough positive things around that interaction.

Appalling service. Cannot ever get a hold of anyone. Permanently on hold or have to leave messages. Appalling and unacceptable. Very stressful for my wife. Appalling communication and no patient advocate approach like RSC. Cannot even be bothered to prescribe Valium in advance for transfers and then manage to cock up when asked about itโฆ. And promptly cannot get a hold of anyone about anything either on their spruce bullshit app or especially via phone mailbox as they just canโt be bothered to answer the phone. Avoid. Anyone else. Doctor will talk a good talk but absolutely pathetic operations and delivery of service.
