I have to agree with many of the reviews for RMA Long Island located in Garden City. You would think an office where most of the staff are women, there would be more compassion and empathy, especially surrounding infertility. But nope! This place is not cheap either. I have been going here for almost a year and saw Dr. MacAvey once. After that I have only seen the nurses. They are all robots. Drawing blood, doing sonos, and getting you out of that chair. This is my first time doing treatments and no one explained the side effects of the medications. I had to pay ER a visit and do my own research. The front desk staff like Nancy and the other woman always look like they had a fight before coming to work. The nurses are rude like Olga and don't give you any information other than what I can read myself on paper. I have had multiple IUIs and I am largely considering another clinic since no one really cares to provide me with more support or guidance. Also, you have to call yourself for reminders for appointments and times, since no one will do that for you.

I wasted my insurance on this place. All they care about is getting paid. Different staff would call with different updates. I found myself emailing different staff just to get a response. When my insurance didn’t approve pg testing, as soon as my retrieval was done, they made up bs that the semen had issues, and made me pay $2500 cash out of pocket. Or they could not proceed . So obviously I had to pay! Mind you my insurance requires sample in order to approve why pg testing is required and of course NOTHING was provided from them. I was told they will submit to insurance and I would get reimbursed. After following up, the financial supervisor never responded to my emails. Months went by and then when I sent a follow up email she said she’s “per diem” with them .. so since July u didn’t have time to respond? And now it is too late! Don’t let them push u around to taking your money, find some other location to go to! You will thank me later!

Front desk and nurses are rudest persons..Nurse Olga is the worst..My doctor is dr.Mcavey and she is very nice person and angie the coordinator is also very helpful..But nurses specially nurse olga is the worst she has no empathy and doesn't know how to talk to a patient i hope they appoint someone nicer than her.im giving negative review just because of her.

I went to another clinic for two rounds of IVF with a doctor who gave up on me. I did my research and found Dr. McAvey. The moment I saw her she knew my regimen needed to be changed and she was super confident. I did one round with her and she got me pregnant. The staff were absolutely amazing. Dr. McAvey listened and believed in me and tried everything she could to get me pregnant. I will be forever grateful for her because I have my beautiful angel baby.

I can’t even believe how this place functions. The experience was horrible. They treat you like just a number. They do not look at you as an individual. They are very quick to jump to “unexplained infertility” or age related infertility because it’s easier for them. Such a waste of time that I cannot get back. Just getting test exam results back takes a month. I had an MRI and nobody would call me back to review the results or at least have me go in the office for a visit unless I waited a month later when they had an opening to speak about the results. What a joke. There was absolutely no urgency at this office whatsoever. My husband and I were waiting to get a procedure and I was supposed to get a call the day before to prepare us for what to expect the next day. I had called the office three times and nobody got back to me until 6:00 PM the night before and we weren’t even sure if it was still happening, absolutely disgraceful for a medical office. My husband wasn’t even sure if he was gonna be able to takeoff that day at that point because it was so last minute. There were other issues with them I can go on about. However, I have since switched to a new clinic and my experience has been night and day.
